    Fitting Plywood with Silicone

It will only be in use for 1-2 days. If I use a liberal amount of silicone at 300 centres in dabs and along the joints will that withstand a few days? Thanks

    Fitting Plywood with Silicone

    Silicone around window to frame

Thanks for your input mate. To be fair they weren't the most expensive windows so the glass might be paper thin and causing it to move slightly. Who knows!

    Silicone around window to frame

The glass doesnt rattle around but it moves slightly when the beads are pushed. I'm trying to cut the noise coming through down and wondered if the silicone would seal the window a bit better. I seen the guy on the video siliconing around before he puts the glass back in so thought that this...

    Silicone around window to frame

The beads seem to move in and out as if there is some play in it, therefore the glass can move a little. I seen this video and thought maybe this would provide and extra seal. http://youtu.be/xQ-_bm3QeeI

    Silicone around window to frame

Should windows installed in upvc units be siliconed in to the surrounding frame? I have had some fitted and they move around some and I wondered if it would need silicone to hold it more firmly in place. I have also had some water leaking in and had the company out to sort this and they drilled...

So annoying when you can see joins after painting ....

I prefer to tape ceilings or at least use a paper tape on the joints before skimming which leaves a better job. You could give it a coat of easy fill and feather it out to take the bad look off it.

    Internal doors required in Glasgow

It depends what type of door your after, if its the modern lightweight panel doors, you can get them from about £25 from b and q and wickes etc. As long as your door sizes are a popular size it should be easy. I had to get mine from east end sawmills (think they have closed) as my doors were a...

    Sealing around UPVC Windows

I'm no expert, but I would take the trim off and have a look at whats behind and fill with expanding foam if its a big gap or silicone if its smaller. Beforehand I would open the window fully and tighten up any fixings to make sure the window isn't moving any. I always tighten the fixings on my...

    Window Latch handle snapped off

My upvc window handle has snapped off and it looks like its made of cast iron. Can anyone tell me how to get this off to replace it. I'm unsure if its an allen key or hex screw or something else inside the two fixings. Thanks
