Will i need to change the stat aswell?? I can them as 1 cant i?

Hi hope someone can help, our immersion heater keeps tripping out however does work on occassions. We have had an electrician out but he states that it is a plumbers job. Do we just need the immersion/element changing or is it likely to be something else?

hi would any one know the regs for changing an electric shower . im changing the old one for a new one and they are both 8.5 watts. do i need to get a sparky in to sign it off when im done . thanks

yea ive tryed back filling via the drain off in the kitchen . it statred to fill the f&e thank via the filling out let so i blocked this so that it vented via the expansion pipe and still no joy

the stat valve in the living room . when i push the pin in it comes back out on its own. there is only 1 drain on the whole system its in the kitchen . this is the one i used to drain down thanx for all your help guys

have removed the head on the one in the living room and the pin moves . didnt get round to trying the one i the kitchen

yea there are thermosts on the rads that arent working but the one in the kitchen has the stat on the return :roll: im thinkin remove the rad in the kitchen clean out the rad and put new a new valve and stat and see what happens , then try agan and do the same in the living room

im told before we changed they cylinder that the rads down stairs didnt work

i understand what your sayin been speaking to a mate who used to be a plumber and he says i should remove the rads and have a look to see if there full of sluge and jet them with a jet wash.

i will have to look at the cold fill as i carnt remember as im helping a friend out with this problem. the pump is noisy . i have tryed to bleed it by removing the silver screw cap in the middle of it . and i have cracked the nuts either side of it.

there is no bypass valve ive done as you advised with the pump and turning all rads off bar one and still no joy the water seemed clear but when i bled the system it looked like nasty cider up stars is now working but bugger all down stairs

i have turned the valve to heating only and turned off the rads up stairs. still no heat down stairs

have done as previously advised, we have heating upstairs thats working fine now but none downstairs. I have bled downstairs and tried to balance the system. I have taken approx 10l of water out of each radiator. they got warm but then cooled down so think i was just drawing hot water down from...
