    Summerhouse window bars

Anyone have any experience with these window bars/replacement? They are rotting on my summerhouse and the manufacturer sent me some replacement bars. However, not sure how to replace them and concerned about breaking the panes. Any advice appreciated. https://ibb.co/MnF4dKy...

    New light switch

Yes, I'm aware of com and L1 matchups but on that switch it's not clear which is the com for the first gang. That's why I asked if my markings were correct?

    New light switch

Hi guys, this 3 way switch controls the main bathroom light, a second light and the extractor fan. Been flashing occasionally when turned on, so seems it needs a new switch. Anything to watch for here or is it just a case of getting a new switch and copying the wire/terminal layout ? (And...

    Drilled into wire

Aargh. Drilled into a wall and managed to nick a live wire. First time I've done such a thing. My assumed fix ... 1) Turn all leccy off. 2) Dig out plaster to get to channel. 3) locate the damaged wire(s) and cut out. 4) rejoin the wires using junction/packbox. 5). Replaster the channel...

    Metal curtain pole

Hi all, I need to get a curtain pole up over the doors in my conservatory. The length is around 8 foot. The problem is that there is an rsj right above the door and I can only drill in for about 20mm. I did put one up, but after few days it's come down. Any ideas to fix it back?

    Bathroom light replacement

Hi Sunray. Paid little attention to what was going on inside that light, basically isolated it, took the cover down and saw the two T&Es, so investigations stopped there. Thanks for your help.

Hi guys, firstly, the light in question had actually been working, but stopped a couple of weeks ago, also, it was not attached to a fan. So anyway I went there today, took the cover down and there were two sets of twins &earth going into it. Looking into the ceiling, one twin & earth cable...

    Bathroom light replacement

Hi all. Any help with this please? An elderly uncle wants me to replace his bathroom light and has sent me this pic of the old one up there now. Not seen that kind before to be honest. I'm assuming that once unscrewed it will reveal the usual twin and earth going into it?
