Funnilyenough I isolated both the basin and shower which utilise the tank and pump that they are also joined to, however I was not starting with a cold tank of water so that may well be it. I'll keep you posted. Terry

Sorry should have said it is an open vented system, heated indirectly. Although there is an immersion heater this is turned off (I've tested for voltage). I was assuming that this would be steam venting into the tank but what would cause it? Thanks for your replies so far. Terry

Gas4You, Can you describe to me what you mean by a gas valve dropping out? The voltage to the valve remains at 240V when the boiler turns itself off. At this stage the pilot remains lit. If you require any further information let me know Terry

Guys, Iwonder if you could tell me whether or not the Potterton EP2002 programmer is a direct replacement for the EP2001. If so is it a matter of just attaching the programmer to the existing wall plate or is a little bit of rewiring necessary. Many thanks, Terry
