    Wiring Into a Lighting Circuit

Thanks for your help John, I’ve just tried it on both sets of black wires and there is no current showing on the multimeter when the light is switched off. It shows only when the lights are switched on. Does this mean that there is no permanent live? Like you said there is a connector block...

Moss on roof tiles & Blocked Guttering

You can use a fungicide wash to clean the moss off but I will come back after time. If you place a strip of copper along the top of your roof this is suppose to stop the moss growing back.

    Asbestos Corrugated garage roof leak

A tin of Acrypol or Flexacryl works well, just brush it on, it comes in grey and available from your local roofing merchant.

    Wiring Into a Lighting Circuit

I’m trying to wire up a garage alarm which I want to have in the middle of the ceiling next to a light fitting. I’ve tried to connect the wires to this circuit but the alarm only comes on with the light switch (not good if a burglar has a torch). Is there a way to do this so it stays...

    Drayton TRV4 Fitting advice

I have bought 5 Drayton trv4 15mm angled valves off eBay and planned to fit them today. I have drained the system and taken off an old valve. The Drayton TRV4 fits on the copper pipe but has a smaller thread where it attaches to the radiator. I guess I have brought the wrong valve but I’m...

Shared Flat Roof - Temporary Repair

As masona said if you decide to waterproof the roof, Flexacryl only comes in 5kg & 20kg, another alternative would be Acrypol, it is better at waterproofing because it comtains fibres but takes a little longer to apply, the Flexacryl is a little creamier. Which roofing felt?

Correctly installed Tyvek has a 30 year product warranty from Dupont. Exposure to direct sunlight shouldn't exceed 6 months and don't dress the Tyvek into the gutter as in traditional methods. Use a plastic eaves carrier/support tray that replaces the underlay as the "drip" into the gutter.
