    Worcester Bosch 30si

Not sure if the Heat exchanger was vented, is this something I can do or leave to the WB engineer? I did have to drain the system recently to replace a leaking rad valve & did add X100 on refill.

    Worcester Bosch 30si

Thanks Nath, yes i thought it was possibly the pump, but there is no clunk when the boiler is running on full power? Is it common for a pump to start to fail after 6 months? I should ring Worcester under the guarantee then?

Definitely coming from the boiler and every few seconds when it starts, can the pump make a clunk when running on a slower speed or does it run the same speed all the time?

    Worcester Bosch 30si

I had the above combi boiler installed in October 2009 and it is working perfectly providing heat & hot water as required. However it has developed a dull clunk when running on low power ie when hot tap is only turned on low or heating is running slowly to keep set tempearature. When boiler is...

    Magnaclean or not?

Hi I am in the process of arranging for my boiler and open vented system to be replaced with a combi. Installer says a magnaclean should not be necessary as system will be power flushed, but will fit one if i want it. What are you opinions on this and would you advise one should be fitted?

    TRV Question

I recently had a faulty TRV on a radiator, the valve would not turn down and the rad was on full regardless of the setting on the valve. As i have BG homecare and this fault was covered, they came on Monday when I was at work and appear to have changed just the TRV head. The original was a...

    Baxi Solo 3 50PF problem

Hi I have a problem with my Baxi solo boiler. When the boiler is switched on from cold it comes on fine and heats up to the required temp ok. Them when there is a further call for heat, the boiler can take up to six attempts for the burner to relight. The pilot appears to light each time and...

    New plasterboard damp (Plumbing leak?)

The walls have been stripped back to the brickwork prior to replastering, the only pipes come through the ceiling, there are no pipes behind the damp line. After a visit from the damp company today they state it is damp penetrating from the exterior and being transferred to the plaster via the...

    New plasterboard damp (Plumbing leak?)

Hi john, you may well be right but I have taken the boiler cover off this afternoon and there are no leaks to the water pipes. If water was leaking into the wall from one of the soil/waste pipes would damp appear from the ceiling are downwards. As i said in my first post there were two holes...

    New plasterboard damp (Plumbing leak?)

Well the boiler is definitely not leaking and there does not appear to be any leaks in the bathroom, only possible leaks would be where the waste & soil pipes go through the wall, but this seems unlikely so any further comments would be appreciated! Thanks

    New plasterboard damp (Plumbing leak?)

Hi thanks The boiler is a traditional boiler using HW tank etc. but does not appear to be topping up fropm the header tank regularly and was only recently serviced. Would they not detect a leak on a service? I was sure the boiler was not causing it.

    New plasterboard damp (Plumbing leak?)

It is difficult to get a full pcture due to the size of the kitchen and doorway etc Is the condenate pipe the flue? this comes directly out of the back of the boiler? I cannot contemplate taking the bathroom floor at present the thought is making me feel ill, it was refitted only 6 moths ago...

    New plasterboard damp (Plumbing leak?)

The adhesive dabs can appear to dry during the day only to appear damp again in the morning (not related to rain but yes cooler tempratures). The sink, sink waste and water supply is on the other wall. The washing machine is adjacent to the damp but all plumbing has been renewed with no leaks...

    New plasterboard damp (Plumbing leak?)

The nearest source of underground water is where the soil pipe joins the underground drain, however there is no damp adjacent to this and this drains away from the house. Is it possible that there is still moisture in the wall and this will eventually dry now the new DPC has been installed?

    New plasterboard damp (Plumbing leak?)

Hi Thanks for the reply I have already checked outside and could find no obvious signs of any damp penetration. There are no pipes close to the damp patches other than a central heating boiler that has no signs of any leaks and the pipes come from the ceiling. There was a small hole around the...
