1/2" to 15mm

I've always been under the assumption that 15mm copper was exactly the same as 1/2".
However in the plumbing section in B&Q the other day, I noticed 15mm to 1/2" 'adaptors/converters'. Just straight couplers as far as I could see.

Maybe there is a slight difference, but it's never bothered me.

they're not exactly the same, but they are close enough to get a 15mm fitting onto a ½'' pipe. it can be a tight fit sometimes if you dont get them on square.
