The existing switch needs to be changed to a 2 way switch if not already one.
The new switch to be fitted also needs to be a 2 way switch.
Link between both switches with 3 core & earth cable.
3 core red links the common terminals of both switches.
3 core blue links L1 of both switches.
3 core yellow links L2 of both switches.
In the existing switch the phase/live cable (red) put to L1 with the 3 core blue. Now put the switched phase/live (black with red sleeving) to L2 with the 3 core yellow.

depending on what cable you get, the colours may be different

OLD:NEW
RED:BROWN
YELLOW:BLACK
BLUE:GREY
BLACK:BLUE

earth stays the same, green/yellow

failing that lookin the for refernce section, two way switching

And don't forget the red sleaving on Yellow(Black) and Blue(Grey) wires in both switches

Mind you, if you brown-sleeve your black and grey it looks awful... much better to use red for purely aesthetic reasons!
