1 radiator is to hot to touch 1 minute then luke warm

i have 1 radiator down stairs which is red hot sometimes then other times its luke warm whilst all the others in the house are red hot, can anyone tell me whats causing this or anything i can try to solve this

yes there is, on the right hand side and its set to 6

usually a big rad valve head with numbers or numirals on it.thermostatic radiator valve(tmv).

Try taking the head of the TRV off.

It's doing its job then, which is to turn the radiator off when the ambient room temperature gets to a desired level.

See if the radiator gets "red hot" and remains that way

Well, if it shuts it down, the radiator will change temperature
