Hey what's the best way of 1st fixing the 1.25 inch waste pipe for a basin on a new build. Is the tidyiest way of doing it, to have it so it comes up though the floor in line with the basin waste plug hole so can fit a pedestal trap?

Thanks can the distance be different depending on the model of basin? Also what's the standard height for the centre of the toilet pan waste is it 7.5inch?

WC should be 175mm - 180mm. Yes, basins can be slightly different but 200mm usually lands within the pedestal and the straight through trap can compensate for minor differences.

And then do you tend to bring the hot and cold pipes up close to either side of the waste pipe, a similar distance from the wall?

Close behind the waste pipe as you look at it from the front, so slightly nearer the wall. They can be taped to the waste pipe at first fix to keep everything in place.
