100mm insulation board in 95mm stud wall...

If you popped out and bought some Rockwall sound slab, the job would be finished by now ... :)
yeah well he spent £1000 on PIR board, most was needed for the loft floor so not a total waste, but anyway, we shaved trips of 5mm plyboard to the width of the 4x2, pinned it on the frame and fleshed it out like that, which has worked fine enough.

the problem here was, he probably was tricked into getting PIR because it's more expensive and looks better, so went with it. or just a lack of planning/thinking.

he also built a wall 10mm or so longer than the PB'd so had to TRIPLE STACK some 4x2 in order to be able to screw it along the bottom or top edge.. well, he double stacked the wood at the bottom, put in the uprights, realised and then had to cut some 4x2 between the joists to be able to screw the PB in lol.

dont worry it'll all work nicely and by the time we sell it, the new world order will be in full effect, we wont own it anymore and we will be happy :D

with the PIR in the wall, some of it has a 5-10mm gap on one edge, is it worth foaming?
