Hi all,

We're fitting a bath in the bedroom at the front of a house on the ground floor, unfortunately the closest drain point is about 10 metres away at the back of the house, its a suspended timber joist floor so there is a bit of a void under it but only around 250-300mm from the underside of the floorboards, so the way that works out I can *just* about get a 1 in 40 fall on a waste pipe, I was planning on using 50mm pipe, now as I understand it this isn't strictly to regs, actually quite far from regs which only allow a 4m run I believe. Unfortunately getting 110mm pipe in is just not really possible and I definitely would not get the required fall on it.

What would you suggest to do here? What actual issues may I face with a 10m run of 50mm waste pipe (run at the correct gradient)?

Would appreciate your thoughts, cheers

Water could be sucked from the trap. At the very least, put a tee below the bath and raise it it to a 50mm AAV.

Right I did actually suspect that may be the case. So would that be tee'd in just after the trap basically? And could also use a waterless trap?

One thought i initially had was a bath rated macerator would work and should even comply with regs but (I may get shot down for this) i would honestly rather a workable solution without a macerator even if it ain't really to regs....

How does it make sense to drain wc solids through a 50mm under a floor?
