I was fed up using adjustable spanners for compression fittings so I decided to get some open spanners. I took a couple of different makes of 15mm nuts along with me to check.
I tested two plumbers spanners that were (the correct) 24mm in size. They were too big for my liking, probably about 1.5mm too much. I went to MachineMart and took the nuts along and a 23mm spanner fitted nicely with about 0.5mm slack for a fair fit around the nut.
Is this a problem with tolerances with the nut or the spanner or what ??
