Hi,

Just noticed that I have purchased a pressurised radiator valve instead of a standard one.

Whats the difference and when and when not should you use a pressurised one?

Thanks, Steve

Do you mean the valves are 10 bar g rated and not 4 bar g rated?

If so the 10 bar g valves should be manufactured to a higher standard with different glands and are less likely to leak. They are fine with vented heating systems.

Most rad valves are now 10 bar whereas some years ago before sealed systems became so popular there were the two ratings.

If I have missed your point please elaborate on what you mean.

Yeah, just looked at the pressured one and the closure system is better constructed - like a piston that you turn to close it downwards. They seem to open up more with less turn of the valve.
