Will a 1800x 800mm bath be OK on floorboards? At present a 1700 x 700mm in. I would spread the weight of the legs 4 by one.

It'll be fine, just put a wide piece of timber between the leg and the floor to spread the weight a bit.

look at the pattern of the nails to see where the joists are. If you lay a piece of 2x4 or something to span at least two (preferably three) of them, and the bath feet on it, that will take the spotload off the flooring. The bath feet will have some adjustment in them to go higher and lower that should take up the thickness of your support. (remember to have the bottom of the bath tilting slightly towards the plughole)

Even a slab of 18mm ply would do, resting on the joists.

Chipboard is particularly weak and unsuitable for rooms that contain water.

Not needed ..... all baths should be installed level along length and breadth, the fall from back to the plug is built into the bath mould these days.

The old cast baths used to have flat bottoms and the back legs were slightly taller to supply the fall, not needed these days though.
