Hello

First thing many thanks for the tutorial in "Wall and floor tiling basics" it really is helpful.

I am replacing the chipboard floor with ply prior to tiling. I'm having problems finding 25mm ply but 18mm is readily available.

I was thinking of adding more batons/supports between the joists to give the 18mm ply more rigidity, maybe 12 or even 6 inch centres if necessary.

What do the experts think? 18mm with more batons or keep looking for 25mm?

Any advice will be appreciated ... TIA Mick

No problem - glad you've found something useful in it.

25mm should be readily available and is the way to go for a proper job - call your local builders merchant and they should deliver it. My local merchants have it but only deliver locally http://www.cwberry.com/Inquiry_ProductDetails.aspx?ItemNumber=01100051

Thanks for the reply mate.

25mm it is then :D

I'm only in Warrington so I'll check that firms delivery prices

Thanks again ... Mick
