Hey just found how to place a question!! - blonde - late and really miffed that my life has come to asking plumbing questions at 11pm!!

Have had a plumber in who has removed a downstairs rad for me. he drained system and put inhibitor in and bled upstairs rads which is all he said he needed to do. Now have two rads in cloakroom and study that are cold they were working before. Cloakroom doesnt have a trv but study does.

Have bled these and no air just cold water. Where am I going wrong?

Rest of the system is working fine!

Well done with your first post, there'll be no stopping you now!

Try turning off the radiators that are working for a while. You may have an airlock and if you subject the non working radiators to the full force of the pump it may clear it.

If that doesn't work, call your plumber back. If it only happened after he drained & refilled the system he's responsible for it.

Followed your instructions and yes it worked - you're a star! :D

Just asking another question. From having read other posts if I have had this rad taken off and the system refilled is it likely I will have recurring problems where rads need bleeding? I have always been happy doing this, but saw something that said when you bleed rads you need to top up the system, which I've never done and wouldn't have a clue on - or am I ok to just carry on the way I have been. Obviously I have a solution to cold rads now!

do you have a combi or a heating system with tanks in the loft?
the combi has to be topped up by a filling loop near the boiler. the system with the tanks in the loft fill the heating system automatically
