2 gang 2 way switch query

Or use switches with caps over the screws or use nylon screws.
I wouldn't consider caps to be satisfactory. They are merely aesthetic and can be removed or fall out. Nylon screws are OK (but expensive) but still do not meet the requirements of BS7671 for a cpc to be run to and terminated at each point of wiring.

Yawn.

You know as well as I do that you can minimise the risks by fitting accessories and luminaries that do not require an earth connection then install a notice at the consumer unit position.

The current requirements are to have a cpc at every point.

But this was not a requirement in 1958.

It's not relevant whether it was a requirement in 1958. And I made my point why I consider screw caps to be unsatisfactory. Also no such warning notice is prescribed by BS7671.

Screw caps may be u/s, but nylon screws are not.

Your only gripe was that they are expensive.

So your preferred solution is a rewire?

Just how expensive are nylon screws round your way?

As for the warning notice not being prescribed by 7671, it is an accepted way of dealing with this situation.

I clearly stated that nylon screws would leave it safe (though still non-compliant) you berk.

Actually, you said it would be "OK" but still didn't comply with 7671, which perhaps implies it is not safe.

Don't forget, people unfamiliar with the regs read this.

So you're one of these people who can't have a simple discussion with somebody without slinging insults.

I pity the people you live with.
