Can anyone confirm what I hope is correct please.

I have some steps which lead around the side of the house and my house normally exists in near complete darkness as there are no road lights etc.

I would like to fit 3/4 external lights (60w/100w) to light up the steps and I would like these to be sensitive to 2 pir detectors - one at the top of the steps and one below. (I have to turn down the sensitivity as I live directly on a road and I don't want passing cars turnng on the lights).

Do I simply take a feed from the mains to the first pir and then take the load to lamp 1 - lamp 2 etc and do the same with the second pir (obviously with only 1 cable running between each lamp) so that either pir will switch on all the lamps or is this totally wrong?

The theory is correct, but since you can not adjust the sensativity of a pir, why not put it higer up and angle it down.

Or even better if you could put it to one side as pirs are more sensative to movement across their field of view rather than towards or away.

Thanks Breezer.

If I only had 1 pir I wouldn't be able to cover top and bottom of the steps without having the lights trip every time a car went past the house (I don't think - but it may be worth looking at again).
