Normally Immersion switches have a red neon to indicate if it is on , are you sure you have the correct switch ?

I followed it from immersion heater. There’s a red strip when I turn it on, like on my plug switches.

In weather like this, the cylinder and pipework loses little latent heat. If your cylinder stat is set at 60c and only a third up from the base, the water above that is likely to be hotter, as hot as your boiler temperature, or close to it.

So the outside and house temperature has a bearing on the cylinder temperature? So I’ve just measured the temp at the tap, 59 degrees centigrade. Cylinder thermostat set and heated to 50, so is this because of the weather?

edit: do you think I need a thermostatic mixing valve on my pipework to taps?

In cooler weather, your cylinder will lose temperature quicker than in hot weather. A mixing valve will control the tap temperature and would be useful if there are vulnerable users.

might be best way to go. I have mixer taps, but there’s one sink that’s 2 taps, should I just get a mixing valve on this, all of them or at the cylinder output?
