I purchsed a valve to fit in a very awkward place under the floor so decided to test it first. With the grey to live, blue to negative and brown to switched live, I cannot get it to open. If put on manual it will switch to automatic when poweredd but that is all. As I cannot get it to open at all, is there some magic that only allows it to open when water is present . simple question is, how can I make sure it will open when in situ?

What makes you think the valve is not opening ?
Can you hear the motor working when you apply 240v to brown and blue?
Does 240V appear on the orange?

Many thanks to those who replied.
"What makes you think its not working"
It was not the orange but it made me think and as so oftn happens it was something so simple, I am ashamed to amit it.
However all is now fine and thanks for the replies
