I have trawled the forums, excuse me if this has been answered before. At the top of my stairs I have a one way switch for a landing light. At the foot of the stairs I have a 2 way switch for the downstairs hall light & upstairs landing light. Back to the top of the stairs where I have recently built an ensuite bathroom and I want to install a light from the exisiting landing light
a) Can this be done, if so how?
b) Do I need a two way switch or other?

You are confusing gang with way, your landing light is 2 way as there are 2 switches. It sounds like the light switch at the top of the stairs is a one gang 2 way switch.
It isn't as simple as replacing the switch with a 2 gang one as you are unlikely to have a neutral in there, the neutral will probably need to be picked up from one of the lights.
There are some diagrams in the wiki which may be of some help, electrical work in a bathroom is nofitiable to your LABC under part p of the building regs (Eng/Wales).
