221 Wago’s

Hi All,

I have brought some 221 Wagos, the new lever type. There are 2, 3 and 5 terminal connectors as per photo.

I have looked and they don’t seem to do 4 terminal connector.

My question is, I have a light fitting that has 4 permanent lives do I just use the 5 terminal connector and leave one empty?

Also It has 3 neutrals and I will need to connect into this, so again will use 4 terminals, so assuming I just use the 5 terminal Wago?

Is this correct?

Also, why wouldn’t they do a 4 terminal version?

Yes use the 5 terminal for both situations as you described

As has been said, use 5-terminal ones for both. If they did them you could use 50-terminal ones - it doesn't matter how many terminals you leave unused

Also, why wouldn’t they do a 4 terminal version?

I imagine 'lack of demand', coupled with the fact that one could always use a 5-terminal one for 4 conductors.
