2gang switch to 2 gang switch

So what happenned? Did it work OK and then you changed something and now it doesn't work, or did it mysteriously go faulty?
just moved to new house and discovered this problem no contact with previous owner
Is the switch for the bathroom light on the same panel as the landing light, as if so it sounds like someones 2-way'd the wrong one, so you're bathroom light is 2-way instead of the landing.
If you're happy to, then after isolating appropriately etc, pics from behind the switches upstairs and downstairs might help us figure out what's going on - if you're not sure how to safely isolate etc, then your best bet is to get an electrician in...

My guess is the old house owner swopped out nice decorative switches for bog standard white plastic ones before he moved, and has b*ggrd up the wiring.
