Advice please. I'm replacing a radiator in the bathroom. The trv is a 15mm compression fitting to the radiator tail whereas the lockshield side is a 3/4 bsp union fitting joint. Would a smear of plumbers gold on the faces of the connection create a decent seal. Thanks in anticipation.

If it’s how I’m thinking, you don’t need it. Ptfe tape or similar, eg loctite stuff for the threads, mating faces not required

It's like this surely you need some kind of sealant rather than just a metal to metal joint?
