3 Gang Dimmer Switch

I have a 3 gang dimmer where one of the switches had stopped dimming and has just now decided to stop turning off the light all together.

As I might need to leave this until the weekend is it safe just to take the bulbs out until I get round to replace it or is this dangerous if the switch is faulty. The other 2 lights connected to it work fine.

Also when I come to replace it is it a straight forward job, have never replaced a 3 gang light switch and would be good to know what to expect and how to wire it, think I will just replace it with a normal 3 way switch and not a dimmer.

Yes taking the bulbs out will be fine.

Do you actually want to get rid of the dimmer? Most 3 gang dimmers are on a double width faceplate, and a three gang switch will be a single plate unless you built it yourself out of grid modules.

Think that's a typo.

Most 3 gang dimmers are on a double width faceplate,
and
most 2 gang dimmers are on a single width faceplate.

Yes just reliased about the size of the face plate, have found a Push Dimmer Switch 400W 3 Gang 2 Way at toolstation so will replace with that at the weekend.

I was just worried that even if I take out the bulbs the dimmer switch would still be on and maybe dangerous as it is obviously faulty? but it sounds like it will be ok to leave without the bulbs in?
