3 phase invertor balancing motor

Today I had to move a single - 3ph invertor, which also had a 3 ph motor connected in delta to it, which runs constantly whist the invertor ism running.having found an old piece of paper for the invertor, it stated that this is a balancing motor. What is the idea of this, and how does it balance? Just curious. Cheers!
