30cxi display fault

Please help

HI all I hope you can help please
I am working on a Glow Worm 30cxi. It was a favour for a friend (freebe) I changed the
heat exchanger gasket to a graphite one.
put everything back together and now the boiler will not come on.
At first the display was coming on and off every second with the fan and now it is just making a heart beat kind of sound from the fan. Still no display.
Any ideas?
