why dont you test the tumble dryer? if you test between live and earth on resistance and you get anything other than Meg ohms on your meter, you can then megger it to confirm that it IS the tumble dryer which has earth leakage. If it is, then you can go inside and test the motor and element, individually to identify which is the faulty part.
