Hi all

As part of my kitchen rebuild, I am replacing my gas hob. In order to mitigate the proximity of the hob to the fridge freezer cabinet to its left, I want a hob which has the fast burner on the RHS of the hob. I've found plenty with the fast burner at the back on the right, and this Zanussi one where it's far right (diamond config):

So, I thought this looked nice and just took delivery of it. However, I'm unimpressed with the quality - the pan holders wobble all over the place, and the diamond arrangement looks nice but is not very practical when using large pans - one large pan on the right puts both centre burners out of commission.

So it's going back. Ideally I'd like a hob with the main burner front right - but I simply can't find one anywhere, it seems to be convention to not do it. Why, I have no idea... If anyone is aware of any, I'd love to hear about it, otherwise I'll get one with a back right main burner. Seems a shame - why would you want your main burner at the back?

(hob must be 60cm)

Neff have a good range of hobs. If you can have two 290mm wide units side by side then the Neff Domino range of twin hobs would give you a main gas burner right rear. You could even mix two gas and two electric hobs.

Thanks for replying. Again, these are right-rear, rather than right-front. There are plenty of hobs available with fast burners of the right rear, but I'm looking for one with the fast burner right front.

The best I can find at the moment is this Gorenje:

Ok, it's a diamond shape, but it looks like the clever layout of the pan supports makes it a lot more practical than the Zanussi, and has a more powerful main burner. Also, the pan supports are heavy cast iron rather than lightweight enameled ones. I've not encountered this brand before, are they any good?
