I want to boss into to the eye of a 110mm branch. If I use solvent am I best of with a solvent boss adapter to 40mm or can you still use the rubber ones? Thanks

You can use the rubber adapters but it really comes down to location and experience IMHO

I range boss adapter as -

3rd - rubber reducers - 1770632720704.png - largest amount of flexibility for alignment but can sometimes have too much movement - fine for vertical, not the best for external horizontal situations IME

2nd solvent weld push fit/ring seal - 1770632818563.png - less flexibility for alignment than fully rubber but more secure for vertical and horizontal connections than the fully rubber adapter

1st solvent weld - 1770632957048.png - quite exact requirements for pipe run setting out but the best seal for both horizontal and vertical connections

Thanks. I am wanting to go in to the eye of that in a horizontal water pipe run. With the 32mm pipe going in to it from above. Have always used the rubber connectors before but and thinking of going solvent

I think the SW ring seal would be a good compromise, it's semi permanent, as against fully with SW or fully flexible with the rubber one and will give a more stable seal.
