Hi,
I'm having a 5.1kw double oven & 7kw Hob in my new kitchen. They are being installed about 1metre apart. There is no electric currently in as the old cooker cable was rubbish and had to be removed. My plan is to run a new cable and to a new cooker socket/unit. I have no physical restraints on the position of the cooker socket/unit. My concern is can i fit both these appliances to one cooker socket/unit.

Also does there need to be a switch on show (i.e above the work top) for quick access or am i ok with the switch/unit being accessed via a cupboard.

I await your expert answers!

By what method are you complying with Part P (notifying your local authority) ?

If you are doing it yourself the fee might be £200 or more.

if you get a registered competent person to do it the cost should be a lot less.

Cheers Holmslaw,

Seeing as you know what you're talking about. Do I have to have switched sockets above my worktop for the dishwasher, hot water dispenser & washer etc?

I'd planned on jumpering of the existing circuit to put some sockets under the worktop for them.

I've already got a chrome 45A switched socket for the cooker/hob.
