96 nissan micra starts but once stops wont restart

hi, please help, i have a 96 nissan micra and it starts fine, but once run, about 30 miles or so, and stopped it then wont restart. The plugs seem ok, i dont really want to spend out on it please advise

Can you hear the whirr of the fuel pump when you try to re start?
Always the clue on these!
