I think its very similar to the more common Laars boiler more commonly used on pools.
However its connected ( direct/indirect ) then I think he will still need the pools ACS.
Its odd that the Laars withstands the chlorine in the water pretty well in the most usual direct installation. The usual problem is scaling on the last three pipes caused by a too slow flow rate.
