A Night at the Opera

One of the curious aspects is that there are cities in Israel where people appear to live together without problem - ;) At least one any way.

They co-exist peacefully in most of the country, certainly did while I was there. I don't doubt there will always be some friction between Arabs and Jews, I also don't doubt there will always be war, it's a very lazy or low intellect argument to lay all the blame on Israel.

I didn't. More pointing out that in some areas in particular they don't help. Fact of life recognised by many.

They did live in relative harmony for hundreds of years, until Zionism raised it's head at the end of the 19th century: they chose to use violence to force the British out rather than a negotiated settlement, such as Ghandi and Nehru managed in India. Then they forced Palestinians from their homes and demanded a Pure Land, such as al Jinnah demanded for Pakistan in similar circumstances.
The opportunity was there for a peaceful settlement, incorporating both in the region but the actions of extremists refused to allow such a peaceful transition. Orthodox Jews are some of the most extreme in maintaining this state and until a politician of foresight and courage can step forward it's doubtful anything will be done about it.
The assassination of the last leader to try, Yitzhak Rabin, by an Israeli, suggests any attempt to instil a two-state solution would be fraught with personal peril.

It seems this still goes on and variations such as holding military manoeuvrers in the OCCUPIED WEST BANK, The people have to leave the area they live in for most of the day.

AlJ news may be a bit biased in this general area but do report things that do happen. They refer to a group of rather right wing Jews, The young also figure. They don't refer to all Jews. Problems flare up yearly at the religious shrines. There are rules and they get broken.

Perhaps a more extreme example was in the news a while ago. Apparently an a Palistinian was shot when there was no need and the crowd cheered.

Al Jazeera tries to be as balanced as the BBC or CNN - the fact one of their journalists was shot - some might say executed - by an Israeli marksman with barely a word by the West shows how they want to avoid upsetting Israel in any way. Biden has said there's no evidence of the murder but Palestinian authorities have the bullet and all the proof they need to point the finger directly at the IDF.

You need to understand that their mythical Israel is not just a small parcel of land around the city of Jerusalem.

Their Israel is the whole world.

You can't get black pudding or mushy peas at the kiosk at the Royal Opera House, so it keeps the plebs away.

The USA report on the latest reporter to be shot goes probably by a member of IDF, Just one of those things that happen. No reason to assume it was done on purpose. Thought to be by IDF around 200yds away. Israel should know who was there or maybe they just turn up when they feel like it.

Not all agree - with good reason.

Yeah, they're so hard to spot, journalists.

She had her tin hat on too. Bullet seems to have passed through her, ricocheted off it and did yet more damage - brain. The bullet used - designed to pass through body armour. It seems there has been 50 odd similar incidents involving journalists. Not sure if killed or wounded. Probably higher than real war zones given the time scales.

Israel is not a myth; it is the Kingdom of David built upon the Temple of Solomon - but the rest of the middle-east does not see Israel in the same light. According to a study of nations across the region they see Israel as more of a flawed democracy and a decade on from the Arab Spring, suggests autocratic government is making a comeback as people go hungry and their economies become unstable.
