A1 alarm

Hope I'm posting in the right place but I've recently moved in to a house with an A1 alarm (the control panel doesn't say which model it is but im assuming it's old due to the almond coloured plastic). Anyway when I set it and leave the house the warning beeps don't stop until I return and put in the code. When I return to the house it just beeps the same ie the full alarm never goes off.

As it's an old system should I get someone in to replace to a newer model? If so can anyone hazard a guess as to how much it might set me back? The sensors seem to be fine in that the red light appears when I walk past etc. can anyone recommend any reliable companies that won't rip me off?

Thanks in advance

firstly of it is an A1 security system it is going to be old and now may well be the time to consider an upgrade to something more modern.

You have been left the instructions for the alarm by previous occupier or a user manual?

Some one may recomend if you at least say which town your from.

whats displayed on the panel whilst its trying to set, it could be beeping due to an open circuit and wont stop until its been secured.

Hi thanks for the reply. No instructions or manual were left, just the code. I am based in stockport.

When I press away the zone 1 light goes red but when I press arm it goes off and the beeping just continues.

Post a picture on here i am based in Oldham.

The A1 security panels I am thinking of have the name on the front of the unit usually.

If it was installed or badge up with A1 alarms it could be anything from an alarm installation company none as A1.

Thanks for the links i think its the first one. I've added an album bit not sure how to link it to this post[/code]

so zone 1 is currently active when you press away hence its illuminated, when clear you should press arm to complete the arming process the last ten seconds of the timer should be faster beeps.

The system cant arm if a zone is active.

if you pm me your email i will send you the bad user guide (just about readable) I have for this unit.
