hi

We have a sterling 10 alarm and it's been working fine for 3 years or so.

We set the alarm before bed and that works fine (we do set - 2).

When we leave the house and set the alarm (set - 1), the alarm doesn't beep any more to indicate its setting. When we then return and open the door, the alarm has stopped the fast high pitched beep and now just beeps in a low tone slowly. The readout says unarmed but we have to enter our code to stop the beep. We've not left it to see if the alarm goes off.

We looked through the manual but can't see anything obvious. Can anyone here offer any advice please?

Thanks

Stuart

Where on earth did you get every 3 years from?

Every 5 is the norm following the correct battery testing procedures and of course .........................

A healthy battery.

Voltage is NO indication that there is any capacity available, in the same way that fumes smelt in your car fuel tank is NO indication that petrol exists!

Sparky - how does one unstuck the contact?
You don't, it needs replacing. If you give it a 'tap' it should work again but it will only stick again and not work when it is really needed. replace it.
