In a kitchen design I believe there should be isolating switches above the bench to isolate

1 a socket at ceiling height supplying a plug in hood filter

2 a socket behind a gas cooker supplying spark ignition

3 a socket supplying a washing machine below bench height.

My question is: should you use a Double Pole 13A FCU or 13A SFCU or 20A Switch to provide the isolation to these sockets?

You could use either.

If you use the 20A switches then you could fit them in a grid switch plate.

Or use individual switched FCU.

Although for the hob ignitor and possibly the fan I might just be tempted to plug them into an accessible switched socket.

If completing electrical work in a kitchen then make yourself aware of Part P.

Grids do look good, you can have 4 inside a normal double box / double socket footprint.

You can also get them pre labelled

who told you that? and why didn't they tell you there is an easier way? (usually)

Why do you want to put the plugs in a position which will be a pain to get at if you ever needed to change a fuse?

Why do you feel you want loads of additional switches peppered around your splash backs?
