Hi, we've just moved into a new property with what we believe is an Accenta "Ideal" house alarm. The previous owner didn't know much about the alarm and said it hadn't worked as long as she had lived here and had no idea about the code. We've discovered it's missing a fuse and will put a new one in but we're wondering how we can reset the alarm code once we've done this as we're assuming the alarm will start going off as soon as power is restored. Or is there a chance the code will have defaulted to the original if it has been without power for a long time? Thanks in advance.

Replace the back up battery at the same time.

The iDeal use iD biscuits, manuals available online.

Depending on how its wired you may be limited to what you can replace it with, without rewiring it etc etc.

before you power it up you can check how the devices are wired.

go with sparkymarka, its better to look at replacing the system, if you are struggling to get it working.
