Access to Paint fascia over porch

This should be a simple paint job, but how would you reach the fascias over the porch roof?
The slope is uncomfortable to stand on, ladders will not angle over it and the roof is slate which could be troublesome.
Is it OK to just stand on it (Rafters cannot be located) or are there any useful tips for both my safety and the avoidance of cracked slates?
I am no lightweight!

Scaffold is always safest , id say though do not stand on any slate tiles They break very easy , are hard to replace and if you slip off you’ll smash yourself . So scaffold is my suggestion
