The table at https://www.diynot.com/pages/el/el004.php is all very well, but it needs another column labelled "overall width". I have some flat cable in my loft that's 8.5 mm wide over the normal insulation, and some that is 10mm wide.
What are these for ? Is the smaller a ring main, and the larger for a cooker ??? Lighting ? Door bell ??? Shower ??

Some cables, especially imperial sizes, have thicker insulation and sheath than others so it is not possible to be entirely accurate.

and some that is 10mm wide.

This is more likely to be '3 core and earth', when found in a loft, used for lighting and/or extractor fans, rather than 2.5mm² twin and earth.

Inspect the cables closely, it will say stamped or printed on them how many cores and what cross-sectional area they are.
