I've added a radiator to the loft and there is no water flowing to the radiator. I've teed off this radiator from the hot and cold side of the current system. :(

did you bleed it? does water come out?

is the rad higher than the f+e tank? if so forget it

are the valves open? you`d be suprised

what size pipe have you tee`d into? 8mm/10mm/15mm?

Bled the radiator and No water comes out all. Pipes are cold radiator is level with the top up tank and the boiler is on the ground floor. vales are open
15 mm pipes

where is the water level in the tank in relation to the height of the rad, the water needs to be higher than the rad or it wont fill (the higher the better)

You say radiator is level with top up tank, but you've missed out the important bit.
Where is the 'water level' in the tank compared to the top the radiator?
If it's lower, then water will never come out and neither will the air.

seems we now have water but with a slight leak!! Water is cold but I don't know if this was when I switched off the heating system?

About half way up the radiator. Water is still cold from the tee to the radiator. about 11 foot (vertical) and another 8 foot (horizontal) to the radiator
