Hello,

I am looking for a little bit of advice before I get a plumber involved.

I’m looking at adding some underfloor heating to my property.

I currently have a 15+ year old Vaillant ecotec-plus-937.

My question is, is it worth upgrading the boiler to something more suitable to take the addition of UFH or does it not matter?

Any advice welcomed.

Regards,

Warren.

What would be more suitable? The 937 is a big boiler, so chances are the addition of UFH wont make any difference to it, so long as it's all done correctly. Is the UFH replacing radiators or a new part of building being heated? Do you know what controls you have on the current boiler?

I'm not sure what is more suitable, hence the ask :-) maybe a newer boiler may modulate down better, or will be able to heat to 35 and 55 individually instead of mixing down one temperature? again I don't know if my current boiler does this. A new boiler may have better controls available? The UFH is in a new part of the building, nothing substantial. as for existing controls all I have a Honeywell wireless heating controller (if that's what you mean?)
