hello im looking for a bit of help :D
Ive put a new radiator on today (the pipe work was all ready there as the previous home owners had removed it to add french doors) so i sited the new rad on an adjacent wall.

So went to turn system on but the radiators wont fill up with hot water, so i've been round them all with a key and bleed the air out then i've been to the pump and bled some air out of that but they still wont fill up with hot water , theres no movemnt at all , the boiler dosent come on when i turn the heating on (via thermostat ) and the pump doesn't start . But the hot water is working fine
the boiler is a glow worm space saver 50 and the pump is a grundfos selectric 15-50 .

any help would be much appreciated

 erm cold water tank to boiler to hot water tank to heating /bath /sinks :( thats all i know

Well if the pump won't start, that's why the rads don't get hot.
When was the last time the pump ran. maybe it's seized up or maybe there's no power reaching the pump. Why not test to see if power is going into room stat. leaving room stat when turned up. going to pump.
I think you can turn the pump spindle with a screw driver to see if it's stuck. If need be, remove the pump motor/impeller for close examination.
Do close the valves first.

have you looked in the loft?

reminds me of that tommy cooper joke...

'I was cleaning out the attic the other day with the wife. Filthy, dirty and covered with cobwebs.... but she's good with the kids...

anyway looked in small tank?

cancel all that.......just re-read first post

ah well.

thaanks for the few replies :( seems it was the pump overheating and cutting out as was some air blocking it, had to wait a few hrs for it to cool now all is fine

I think I must have missed something, if the pump doesn't start how does it overheat and cut out.
