Hiya guys :)

First post, Sunday Afternoon, and a little dilema I would appreciate some help with please :)

I have a new kitchen going in next week, and the wife wants some downlighters underneath the units :D

I have in the kitchen a single light switch, it has COM (RED) at the top, and at the bottom, 1 & 2 (red and black respectively)

Can I change this to a two way lightswitch (I had one already, its the same as the exisiting one, but obviously 2 x com 2 x 1 & 2) and run a cable from it to go into the 12v transformer?

if so... how :oops: :oops: :oops:

New to electrics, would like to have a go....... but i'm a little confused :?

Please can anyone help me out?

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

should have also said...

When I brought the Downlighting, I asked about the power supply and how to feed it, and the guy I talked to said it needed a 240v supply to the transformer (The transformer is VERY small!!) then the lightswitch could act as an on/off for the transformer, basically turning the downlighting on and off as required.

So........ if anyone can help, please do

Best wishes

Chris

can you turn the existing lights on / off from somewhere elese too?

it sounds like you can from the info you have given.

in which case the answer to your question is no, its not that simple.

have a look in either the wiki, or sticky (posts) to see how it is done.

You used to be able to turn lights off from another switch yes, but that switch was taken out as it wasnt working properly

So can it be done with out that switch there, the only switch that now operates the lights os the one described
