I want to add a spur, to feed a double plug socket in the loft, to an existing ring main.
I have measured the floor area (including stairs) of what the circuit already feeds. This equates to 90M².
The IEE regs say that a ring main cannot serve a floor area greater than 100M². Would this contravene the regs as the loft is probably 28M² but isn't strictly a floor as it isn't habitable?
