Sorry, me again!

I've just added a 2nd SATA hard drive, but am unsure how to format it. It's all plugged in, but when I look at Disk Manager it hasn't been allocated a drive letter. It's recognised as a disk drive and has a healthy status, but has no file system or volume letter listed.

Could someone possibly advise where I should go from here?

Many Thanks, Tim

Yes, it says it's healthy and active.

If you right click on the drive pane, the only option it gives is to Delete Partition, all other options, including format (which I thought I needed to do), are grayed out. if I select delete partition it gives a warning that it is the active partition on the disk, and all data will be lost.

I haven't partitioned it, didn't know it was partitioned, and have put no data on it, it's supposed to be new!!!

The bar at the top was initially blue, so I took my heart in my hands and deleted the existing partition. The bar then went black, and it then allowed me to re-partition it, it formatted, and now appears to be working!! Bar is back to blue, and the drive named and available.

Hope I haven't done anything wrong!!!

Thanks for your help, Tim
