hi all,
i have an old wylex fuse board under my stairs
and wish to add a new board to the circuit just for the
use or the kitchen/ bathroom extension. the new board
will be in the hall.

can i just use a spare 30 A fuse which has the cartridge
type fuses and come off that with
6 or 10mm cable to the new board?

or is that not going to be able to take a new ring main,
cooker circuit and lights etc.

oh for good grief..

whatever company you work for must be so proud...

a cooker takes a lot of amps, as does a kitchen ring in general, even more if there's a washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher etc..

why do you think that 30A will be sufficient to feed a whole kitchen?

the kitchen is generally the most power hungry room in a house, with the possible exception of a bathroom with a big shower..

yea thought you would say that.
Can i run new tails from the under stairs
location to the sub main safely in your opinion
if i put it in trunking? distance is about 3 metres
up the wall, along the ceiling to the 2nd CU

is there no room under the stairs for the new CU?

wouldn't a whole new CU change be better.. rcd protection etc..

you're a kitchen fitter right?

no room and the customer wants it in the hall.
Is what i suggested ok with regard to meter tails?

You've been on here before and you didn't know what you were talking about then.I hope you are still not messing about with a discipline you clearly know very little about.Leave it to the professionals before you do something you'll regret.

C J C,

Ignore the people on here - they are just trying to advise you to do the job correctly.

Apply for and do the courses 2330, 2381 & 2391 (or their new equivalents) - if necessary again. When you have done those you will not have to deal with the people here. Until then, shove off.
