Hi all , I hope someone can point me in the correct direction . I have recently had the garage door replaced with french doors and wish to connect a new magnetic contact to this door . the garrage currently has two contacts in there a pir and a magnetic contact to the rear door. these are both wired into the sytem as zone 3 . the wire to the rear door goes all the way to the pir and then a single wire goes back to the main panel . My question is can i fit some sort of junction box where all three contacts run into ,then take a single wire back to the main panel . If this is possible could someone please suggest which type of J box I would use and the supplier . The wires are 6 core if that helps the alarm is an 8 zone and all 8 zones are used , Texecom alarm
many thanks in advance for any help
Glenn

You can , but not a good idea to have all those items on one zone , what a happens if you have a fault / false alarm from zone 3 ?

If you have a spare zone in the panel and an unused pair of wires in the existing cable, you could wire it up separately (if...).

You might be able to use the PIR or contact as a junction box, if there is enough space. Otherwise, there are little JBs designed for alarm systems - but remember to document/label everything!

Look here for examples: http://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/...&search_in_description=1&keyword=Junction+box

Thanks guys for your responses , I will go with the junction box idea as I've no spare connections in the main panel , if one goes faulty I will use a process of elimination to establish which one is faulty , Thanks again Glenn
