I think I asked this question somewhat some months back but I didn't give full details.

I would like to have a couple of double sockets in my car port (for garden tools etc) plus possibly a single in case I am allowed to have an electric roller door in the future.

There is a socket on the other side of the car port back wall (on the downstairs ring main). There is a seperate circuit for the TV sockets, kitchen and cooker so there is only about 4 sockets on the entire downstairs ring main.

I've had some electricians round, they all seem to prefer to come off this socket (rather than another feed from the CU). One mentioned having an FCU for the electric roller door but not the other sockets, another I think sounded like he wanted all the sockets off an FCU.

I don't see the point of having an FCU for just the roller door? Wouldn't it be protected by the fuse in the plug?

Also I'm not sure which of these options are best:
1) Have an FCU inside and then go through the wall to supply all the sockets
2) Same but with a weatherproof FCU in the carport.
3) Extend the ring circuit, no FCU

Obviously the circuit is RCD protected.

I am just trying to get an idea of what options are available as I don't want to get fobbed off by the electrician.

Thanks
